How do I Feel After ULBS?
Hello everyone! I am here today to talk about my first English ULBS.
So, I was one of the last people to present the story. For days I had waited and seriously, my fingertips went cold because of nervousness. So, here is how it goes.
When it was my turn, I walked in front and told about the story. Starting from the synopsis till the impact and who do I recommend the book to. So, are you curious about this story?
The Girl with Red Ribbon Hair Band written by Scarlet Elizabeth Kang or better known as IGOT7JustRight tells about a young boy who suffered dyslexia, that is Lee Daeyeol, wants to be friends with the superior bully of Woollim High, Ko Hyun-kyung. Despite getting hurt lots of times and some of Hyun-kyung's attacks went overboard, Daeyeol still want to be her friend because he knows that she has a soft side. She always wear her hair band to school since young because it is a present from her brother before he died a few years later. Daeyeol is curious about her and found out that Hyun-kyung had a complicated past.
Each character of the story portrays at least one moral value. From Hyun-kyung, I learned that family love cannot be traded with money and wealth. She hasn't received any love from her own parents who divorced when she was young. Her sister left her as well and before that happened, they abused her like an animal. Hyun-kyung's brother, Min-hwan, took care of her until his death. Hyun-kyung knew his parents-in-law did that to him and she wanted revenge. At the end, she was sentenced to jail and admits that she had killed Seol-hwa, which is a lie because she didn't do it.
Daeyeol. Hyun-kyung's boyfriend and husband. On his first day of school, he talks a lot with Hyun-kyung which gets several punches as a result. He has a brother and he is kind guy. He proved that everyone can have a friend, even if that person is bad. His constant determination made me realise that we may have a lot of friends but how many true friends do we have? That thought keeps playing on my head over and over again. Daeyeol is afraid of his ex-girlfriend, Seol-hwa, who bullied him and extremely obsessed of him. I actually cried at the end because he wants to admit that he killed Seol-hwa but Hyun-kyung doesn't let him to do so and she is the one who took the blame. Plus, when she is in jail, Daeyeol always visit her to teach her. He wants her to understand what's going on on the outside of the world. There is always a saying, "A friend in need is a friend indeed."
After I presented this, there are a few questions and I answered them cooly. I am glad that I managed to present this smoothly despite being extremely nervous. This can build confidence in me to talk in front of a large crowd of people in the future. Last of all, shout-out to IGOT7JustRight for this amazing story!
