Activities Happened on Minggu Membaca
Minggu Membaca was held at my school for three days. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This time, the activities were fun and I have some suggestions on how to improve the activities for minggu membaca.
Tuesday:
During the 11th period, the papers arrived. I was thinking. What are those? It is revealed to be a game called crossword puzzle. Something like that. Honestly, I was good at this but now I am bad at it. It was Biology that time so we spent one period just to solve the crossword puzzle. It is a bit tough and it was surprisingly quiet. Everyone was so determined to solve the crossword puzzle quick. At the end, most of us didn't complete it but only 17 people managed to complete the puzzle.
Wednesday:
Hangman time! We created two teams and I was in team 4 Bel. The questions were hard but our team managed to gain more points than team 4 Belian. It was fun and I learned a lot of things in the quiz and when I heard some of the questions that were my favourite such as bands, movies. I tried to hold my excitement because I gave different reactions to different bands and movies and they can read my expression if I failed to do so. I am a fan of football but not that hardcore fan. Yup. A question about Arsenal and Chealsea were in the quiz.
Thursday:
The last day. My class were in charge to go to different classes to present our storybooks, along with 4 Angsana. Derrick and I went to 2 Angsana, 2 Belian and 2 Cengal. Derrick presented his story which I forgot what was the title of the story. I presented a story found online which is called The Girl with Red Ribbon Hair Band. The books that 4 Angsana and 4 Belian present to other classes are the books presented for our ULBS. I like 2 Angsana's responses on my story and Derrick's one as well and all of their questions are quite interesting and fun! 2 Belian, on the other hand, are quite hyper and they tend to not focus much on our presentation so I am not surprised. We went to 2 Cengal and I was the only one who managed to present due to time factor. We all had fun presenting our stories for a short time and this could encourage students to read.
I have two suggestions on how to improve the activity for Minggu Membaca. I think that a representative from each class in each form should tell their stories in front of everyone to boost their confidence, and after the show and tell is over, they should open a Q&A session so the other students ask the representative and the representative ask the students back and reward them a price to attract their attention. Secondly, everyone in a class should form into three to five teams and choose a story to act it out, like a play. We should encourage them to understand the story rather than memorising the story so they can present their stories without referring to the script. That is all for now. See you real soon!
