Write about an Event That Makes You Angry. Give reasons why the event makes you feel this way.

Based on the novel Dear Mr. Kilmer written by Anne Schraff, an event that makes me angry is when students bullies Hannah Schermer in school. I was furious about that event for three reasons.

One of the main reasons I was angry about that is because Hannah Schermer was called as a Dirty Hun by the students, mainly Abner, Harry and Blanche. They dislike Hannah just because she was born German but lives in America. I was mad when they said things about Hannah because they treat her like an outcast even though she's living in the same country as them. It is seen as a childish act to pick on someone just because their ethnicity is different from theirs.

Besides that, when Hannah was absent in school, the students didn't bother to sign the card. Richard is the only one who signs the card despite being threatened by other students. I was mad at this part because they are trying to make Hannah someone who doesn't deserve to be there. Their racism is what bothers me the most even though they are all from the same type, which is humans.

Lastly, Hannah received the Liberty Lady because of her essay. Unfortunately, the students threaten her to let go of it by showing absolute hate towards her. Hannah ended up giving up the title Liberty Lady which makes the other students happy because they had won. I am extremely mad for this part as the students are daring enough to do anything just to make Hannah let go of Liberty Lady because of her efforts in writing her essay. It is ridiculous that she is unfit for the role just because she is a German blood.

In conclusion, the event where Hannah Schremer were bullied and outcasted by the students truly enraged me. I think that discrimination just because of racism is too much and should be avoided at all costs to live in a peaceful life. We should be more open-minded to accept people who are different from us as we live in the same country.
