The Changes My Country has Experienced from 9/5 till Today and Changes I Would Like to See in the Future
Ever since the 14th General Election was over, I noticed several changes that occurred in my country. There are quite a number of changes that occurred starting from 9th of May until today that I could see with my own two eyes.
One of the most obvious change that I can see is GST which was introduced by our former Prime Minister, Dato' Seru Najib Tun Razak, has been rated from 6% to 0%. GST is still present but we don't have to pay anything for GST. Some citizens think GST is burdensome and some people thinks it is useful. We just live it as it is. What matters now most of the daily necessities are cheaper.
Besides that, most of the cabinets consist of people with different races and religions. Now, almost everyone from different races can be the leaders of the future. Before this, Malays got special treatment by the government for 60 years but now, everyone is treated equally, regardless of ethnicity and beliefs because we are Malaysians.
Besides that, I realise that our country is actually rich in talent but they don't get the spotlight. We finally get to see them after 14th General Election was over and based on their achievements, I am surprised and amazed about it. At first, I thought Malaysians are capable at some things but not a lot of things but now, my perspective has changed. Anyone could lead a country and now, not one but two doctors-turn-politicians! I was extremely taken aback and I really respect our current leaders.
What do I want to see in the future? What I really want to see in the future is that Malaysia is known as one of the best countries all around the world. Not only that, our education system needs a lot of improvement and we need new ways to grab the future generations' attention to become the best of the best not only in Malaysia but all around the world. We are Malaysians and we can do better than what we had done now.
