Free Topic: Peter Pan and the Lost Boys
"Sometimes what legends told you are true, and some are completely nonsense."
Peter Pan, the boy who is puer aeternus which means he will never grow up till he dies. You heard a lot about Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Wendy and obviously, Captain Hook. Most of us, including me, thought that Peter Pan and the boys will never grow old. Unfortunately, it is all a white lie.
What we always hear in Peter Pan stories is Peter Pan and the Lost Boys will never age, being like children, and basically, never mature. Disney taught us that way throughout the years. Well, I don't want to spoil the children's dream but it's a fact. It's a reality. Well, most of us think that they will never age because they are in NEVERLAND. The word NEVER states a few things like how we saw in the movies:
- Peter Pan and the Lost Boys will NEVER grow up
- Captain Hook will NEVER win against Peter Pan
- Mythical creatures will NEVER be gone unless they have forgotten about them
In reality, sorry to burst your bubble but Peter Pan is the only one will never ever age. He will kill whoever starts to grow up, which is clearly saying about the Lost Boys. He is the only one who has the ability to never grow up, while the boys are just... normal boys without any powers.
There's a phrase I found in an MV which really grabs my attention. What does it say?
The world of children, Neverland. There were no one except children. Because Peter Pan got rid of them when they grow up.
This clearly states that Peter Pan is actually a person who is brave enough to kill children who grow slightly older. Well, I think he either kills them or banish them to somewhere else and they can never come back. Both make sense actually so let's stick to both. Basically if he founds out that one of the Lost Boys mature up, say goodbye to them because they will be meeting their graves.
The older Lost Boys who got rid by Peter Pan by banishing them, eventually found the way back to Neverland. It's a small world, after all. They create a hideout and grow up as a family. This is the sad part. They think Peter Pan as a part of their family but Peter Pan doesn't think so.
When Wendy met Peter Pan and the Lost Boys, you could see that they are excited to meet her. Peter Pan is selfish because:
- He wants to maintain his childhood
- He likes Wendy and thinks Wendy is only for him
- He;s the leader of the Lost Boys, so he could do whatever he wants
In stories, Peter Pan told the Lost Boys to 'kill' Wendy because she is a girl and not from Neverland (the fact she was nearly stoned to death). Wendy develops feelings towards Peter Pan but unable to literally say it because Peter Pan doesn't respond back to her hints and his inability to love her back. What's the point of having the ability to maintain your youth but don't even know how to love back and kill children who wants to be mature?
So, that's what I could say for now. We don't know the real truth yet or is it me who just knew about it? Well, I hope you enjoy my blog and sorry to ruining children's childhood dreams because I don't believe in them at all in the first place.
