Free Topic: Earth Day and How to Preserve the Sanctity of Earth?
What
is Earth Day? Earth Day is an annual event which is celebrated worldwide on
April 22nd. Various events and campaigns are organised by
governments and non-profit organisations to create awareness to the community
and the citizens of every country to let them know how much impact an activity
can caused to destroy nature. Natural disasters, that’s a different issue. They
occurred naturally and we cannot prevent it from happening. We can only depend
on the news and the authorities. On the other hand, pollutions caused by humans
such as air pollution, water pollution, high acidity of soil, can be prevented
and avoid such activities from occurring. The question is how can we preserve
the sanctity of Earth?
One
of the ways we can use to preserve Earth is to start recycling recyclable
products such as cans, plastic and papers. We can sort them and that is why we
have three different recycle bins to ease the waste sorting. The recycle
products will be collected by the recycle truck to be send to the factory to be
processed to create new products. This is decrease the amount of waste and
lessen the number of dump hills created because of tons of waste we created
each day. Developed countries such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea, the United
States of America and so on, create a lot of waste compared to other countries.
According to Wikipedia, the United States of America created around 4.5 pounds
of waste and that is more than other developed nations. When we practice
recycling in our daily lives, the amount of waste products created can be
reduced.
Besides
that, schools can organise programmes regarding nature as the main subject and
create objectives to preserve Earth against pollution and destruction. Students
can learn about the Earth and useful ways to preserve Earth alongside the
causes and effects that pollutions can do to Earth through gallery walk.
Schools could also create “Nature’s Club” which focuses on activities to create
awareness to the students, especially the members about Mother Nature. Schools
can create competitions to encourage students to create new things using only
recycle products. Students can showcase their creativity to the school and the
things they made can be displayed for Earth Week or any other activities at
school related about Earth.
Not
just that, non-profit organisations could create campaigns to create awareness
about Earth and natural habitats. They can hand out flyers and organise talks
about preserving nature to public. They could also create a sale with the money
earned used to donate to the organisations to replant new trees, buy new
equipment and so on. The society should lend a helping hand to make the
campaigns about preserving Earth a big hit. Without the society, the steps that
could be taken to preserve Earth and protect Earth against pollution will
become a huge fail. The government should support the campaigns and contribute
with them to accomplish the objectives to save Mother Nature. Not only
politicians, famous people, especially celebrities, are also encourage to
support these activities since most fans will follow what their favourite
artists do. Thus, awareness regarding about Earth can be created.
Every step will always start from ourselves, right? We should make the
first move. We love our Earth because without Earth, how are we supposed to
eat, drink and live? We, as citizens of Earth, should take actions to take care
of Earth. Besides recycling and replanting trees and flowers, we can volunteer
ourselves to help the organisations that is in charge of taking care of forests
and natural habitats with an open heart. This will ease the work the employees
and at the same time, we get to experience it with our own hands. We can also
stop buying products that is made out from endangered species, whether it is
animals or plants. If there is an increase in sales, more animals will be
killed and also more plants will be used, and at the end, the future generation
will not know about these animals. For example, Sumatran rhinoceros are facing
extinction along with the Bornean Orang-utans. Lots of actions taken to protect
these endangered species from extinction and we should help them as well. The
government should fine hunters and poachers who dare to hunt for endangered
animals with a fine.
In
conclusion, we should preserve our Earth for a better future. New generations
can enjoy what we have right now without anything on their way. We should love
our Earth as much as we love ourselves. Love yourself, love the Earth, love
Mother Nature. Take care of our Earth.
